“In Alaska, I found a wilderness that touched my soul and filled me with awe and reverence for the natural world.” - John Muir
Often called the "last frontier", Alaska truly is unique among states, with a vast wilderness unmatched anywhere else, and iconic wildlife in unbelievable abundance. I was fortunate to spend ten days there in the summer of 2023, primarily photographing brown (grizzly) bears in Katmai and Lake Clark national parks. It was an experience I shall never forget, and one I hope someday to repeat. To read a brief essay on my time among the bears, please see The Kahunas of Katmai.
